William S. Jackson
William S. “Bill” Jackson, 89, died peacefully on August 6th, 2016. He was born to Samuel and Dorothy Jackson on 1/13/1927 in Brooklyn, N.Y., the youngest of 3 children. He is pre-deceased by his sisters, Grace and Claire. He married Selma on 7/2/1949, and they were married until her death in 2003. He is survived by his children: Sara (Barry), Susan (Chuck), and Steven (Jackie); four grandchildren: Ehren, Laia, Spencer, and Jamie; and three great-grandchildren.
Bill joined the Navy on his 17th birthday, and served as a Medic in the Pacific Theatre. He later trained as a colorist and hair stylist, and owned a successful beauty salon, Studio One, in Roslyn Heights, Long Island. He and Selma moved to Florida in 1975, where he continued to work and to pursue his favorite hobby, golf. He was a skilled golfer and was proud of his hole in one, which was observed by his golf partners!
